Like most crafters, I’ve always felt more satisfied when I’ve made something I need myself rather than just going out and buying a new one, even if it’s something very small and simple. these are so adorable! Very clear directions that were easy to follow. Turn your fabric circle over so the side that you want to show off faces down against your tabletop (for me, this was the clearly patterned side).

Finish the cushion off by folding the remaining bits at each corner of the glued underside you’ve been working on back on or under themselves (whichever you think looks neater) and into the centre, gluing the ends in place.

It can be done in combination with stuffing, but do you think it would work with this? Nice pin cushion.

Pull off a small handful of stuffing or fibrefill that’s about an inch in diameter, or roughly the same size around as your original paper circle. I love the idea of setting them in a row, Robyn. I picked up two mason jars at Goodwill weeks ago and hadn’t gotten around to looking up a tutorial to do this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ball-Collection-Elite-Glass-Mason-Jar-with-Lid-and-Band-Wide-Mouth-8-Ounces-4-Count/16213253, How to Make a Driftwood Sign for Your Home, 3 Ingredient Play Dough to Make in Minutes, lay your jar lid onto the fabric and measure at least an inch wider all the way around, use a protractor to measure out a circle that’s at least an inch wider than the lid, or grab a trusty bowl from the kitchen (which I did) that’s larger than the lid and draw around it with the fabric marker.

;-). Hot glue the felt or cardboard to the bottom side of the lid to cover the raw edges.

Take the needle and thread and make a loose running stitch around the inside edge of the fabric. Screw your mason jar lid-come-cushion onto the top of your jar and voila! Now everything is together. Stick the cut edge of your lace ribbon into this glue, making sure that the bottom long edge of your ribbon’s length lines up evenly with the bottom edge of your lid. This would be a cool idea for my daughter and I to make together.

A few of mine first jars were really bulky and made it hard to screw the lid on.

How or what am I doing wrong.I can’t get the canning jar lid to screw on after I finished the project. Look forward to reading more now that I’m a follower.

I love the fabric you chose…. This will be the last time where I use the word pouffy in this post. You might recognize the fabric I used from that project. Instead of using felt to cover where the stuffing goes, try gluing the whole thing to the LID that goes inside the ring, then glue the whole thing together. I filled mine with the very pins I’d use in the top, since my previous pin case wasn’t as durable as a glass jar. Being a craft blogger I have a craft room dedicated to working on my projects so I’m always trying to find ways to organize and make it look prettier.

Definitely turning some jars in such pin cushions for my sister and mother, they’ll surely love those. Your email address will not be published. Hint: If you have any wool batting, this makes the best pin cushion stuffing because the lanolin from the wool helps your pins go into fabric better.

Thank you It perfectly describes the pin cushion. I tried to refresh but it still happens.. I also used a few strips of it to make a small fabric garland to hang on the wall. That gives it a flat inner surface that the ring likes and makes it easier to screw together.

It’s amazing what one little fat quarter can produce.
