Post That makes me feel better. Back to Beginning. After I did all the Kaplan MBE questions, I felt pretty comfortable. ... MBE Question books from BarBri and Kaplan can generally be found on eBay from past examinees (just make sure to buy a book without any markings). I think on the computer I don't read as carefully, want to rush through bc of the timer, and can't highlight/diagram. by Wild Card » Thu Jul 19, 2018 9:03 pm, Post

The best feedback you can get is the feedback you give yourself.

ALL the answers, even the ones I got right. From my understanding Barbri does not use licensed MBE questions. It's been suggested that I should move on and focus solely on essays because I'm in a good enough score range (don't know if that is true), but I can't help but panic because of the inconsistency between the two companies. Adaptibar has some real easy questions that you normally will not find on Barbri. Can anyone confirm or deny, or have thoughts on the matter? By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. I hate how Barbri words their multiple choice questions. In most U.S. states, your MBE score makes up 50% of your overall bar exam score and the other exam components are weighted to the MBE. On the MBE—and I can speak to three administrations in three different states—BARBRI has clearly figured out what the bar exam questions look like and the patterns you’ll encounter.” Most bar takers fall right in the middle within a few points of each other. In my opinion, the added stress and fear really isn't necessary and makes a crap experience even worse.

Barbri doesn’t give you that kind of flexibility.

The general feeling is that Barbri's questions are "harder" because they are routinely more "wordy" and are often times very nuanced. Yes, of course this post is a result of lower scores than I hoped for lol.
Approach #1: don’t rely on the Barbri graders—rely on yourself. I only see a final prep one (100 qs) on my PSP. Just saw this and wanted to share my stats as I had a similar concern. Scheduled for the July Exam and have done a few of the “Capstone” sets and 20s MBE sets — anyone else find Barbri questions to be getting harder? Well, a few things. I am too! by wildmadagascar » Tue Jul 23, 2019 6:41 pm, Post Post Most bar takers fall right in the middle within a few points of each other. Barbri I was around 60-65% on the mixed sets near the end. Thank you, sarahbeck10. This usually puts immense fear into students to read questions more closely and to study more minute details - which usually leads to success on the bar exam. This speaks to BARBRI’s experience and longevity. Happy to hear I’m not the only one. As a general rule, we don’t recommend focusing too much on released MBE questions. I do find it's a lot harder to do the ones on the computer than when you have it on paper. (Many states provide past bar exam questions and the model answers for review. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts.

“BARBRI is spot-on in its MBE practice questions and practice essays. Whether you're on law review or barely made it through law school, Barbri's goal is to make sure you pass the Bar. I appreciate it. by nthp » Fri Jul 20, 2018 9:14 am, Post See below: ↳   Law School Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists, ↳   Talk About Law School Visits, Open Houses, Admit Days, ↳   Free Help and Advice from Professionals, ↳   Other forums not on the main forum index page, Law School Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists, Talk About Law School Visits, Open Houses, Admit Days, Legal Career Advice Podcast with Harrison Barnes, © Top Law Schools LLC 2003-2020 all rights reserved. by wildmadagascar » Tue Jul 23, 2019 5:19 pm, Post I scored way better than I needed to so you should be fine.

I am averaging between 70-80 percent correct on Adaptibar, but am getting about 50-57% correct on Barbri on some of my sets, and 60-70 percent in others. Yes, their questions are generally "harder" in the sense that they are more convoluted than the ones on the real MBE.

Please feel free to post anything related to the hell that is bar prep! Low 60s, high 50s on those sets, then was getting 75 or so on adaptibar over the same subjects after doing the capstone questions. So, it is not a linear correlation between the "harder" Barbri questions, and the "less-hard" MBE questions. Barbri's questions are harder than the actual MBE questions, no doubt. The questions are (allegedly) recently released from NCBE, thereforemore indicative of the questions we'll see on the bar. Why anxiously wait for a score given by a Barbri or Kaplan grader? by nthp » Thu Jul 19, 2018 1:53 pm, Post The contracts one legit made me cry because I felt so stupid. Adaptibar has some real easy questions that you normally will not find on Barbri. What does this mean for you? First, having a variety of questions is never a bad thing. It was a confidence booster for me.

They seemed to test the more general areas rather than these weird rules.

Barbri's Final Review (7/19): 83/100 Barbri's Half Day (7/21): 75/100 Barbri's Full Day AM (7/26): 77/100 So not as much of a drop for me.

by LSL2019 » Fri Jul 26, 2019 2:32 pm, Post I’m, on average, doing worse on these than earlier MBE sets and subject workshops.

Barbri I was around 60-65% on the mixed sets near the end. Some of them are sooo obscure. No problem. Later, I got a Barbri MBE book and attempted a few tests. Part of their strategy, from my previous experience, seems to be making it harder for you so you study more than you need to and pass the bar. Glad its not just me--these have me feeling very discouraged and worried. - Some things can't be unlocked before they are available on the schedule, some things can't be completed in flex mode if you're doing stuff out of order which affects your overall completion percentage (this drove me crazy). Say, for example, you just feel like squeezing in 5 torts questions. I did really well on the ConLaw 25 set at the beginning of the course. Or, if you would like to do a 17 question set of mixed torts and property to focus in on your weaknesses, just 2 MBE subjects rather than all 6, no problem. yeah, in an attempt to test your knowledge of the most obscure nuances of the law, BarBri crafts MBE questions which end up feeling both harder and irrelevant come game day. MBE took a long time to do because a major difference this time was that I read the explanatory answers at the end. If you used both Barbri (or Themis or Kaplan) and Adaptibar, did you notice a big difference between how you scored on Barbri versus Adaptibar? Someone told me the BARBRI practice MBE questions are notably more difficult (on average) than the real MBE. But, the authors of the Barbri questions also have a different writing style than the authors of the MBE. I’m, on average, doing worse on these than earlier MBE sets and subject workshops. The captstone sets have been brutal for me. Thank you for your input, pfunkera! I wouldn’t be too concerned; many of the Barbri questions aren’t actual MBE questions, some are more difficult. Did the worst on the contracts set despite contracts being one of my best scores in adaptibar & on the practice barbri MBE. I never took Barbri but have had plenty of friends who did and I have been reading these boards for years. I agree, I did them a couple weeks ago and thought they were markedly more difficult than the standard questions. It seemed to me that the logic and even the way to tackle Kapan and Barbri MBE questions were different. Did you find your actual scores closer to your exam prep company, or Adaptibar? Scheduled for the July Exam and have done a few of the “Capstone” sets and 20s MBE sets — anyone else find Barbri questions to be getting harder? Yes!! However, the actual MBE will have some easy questions but after the exam you will only remember the hard ones. - The MBE quiz builder repeats questions sometimes even though there are questions in the bank I haven't done yet. When it comes to real released MBE questions, BARBRI offers NCBE released questions with select BARBRI Bar Review options – and we assign select questions that have been vetted to ensure they represent areas most likely to be tested. It was slow going, it would take me a full day to do 3 MBE of 18 questions (and answers). 400 MBE Questions & Explanations ... and if you’re scoring well on these “harder” questions then it’s likely you’ll do well on the actual MBE. A few students have a very high MBE scaled score and a few have a very low scaled score. Whether you're on law review or barely made it through law school, Barbri's goal is to make sure you pass the Bar. by placidstate » Tue Jul 23, 2019 6:34 pm, Post Part of their strategy, from my previous experience, seems to be making it harder for you so you study more than you need to and pass the bar.

I've been scoring 70-100 percent on BarBri's hardest questions (MBE Questions By Topic). by lawschoolkid0122 » Fri Jul 26, 2019 7:35 pm, Return to “Bar Exam Prep and Discussion Forum”, Discussions related to the bar exam are found in this forum.
I too am doing worse on these than earlier sets and subject workshops, yeah I definitely feel that, and it sucks a lot. Instead, give yourself feedback. Also, may I ask where is the Barbri midterm and MBE refresher? I did 2 capstones today and actually used a notepad to write things down like I would on the exam, and those were my best 2 scores, I also went back and reviewed the subject area sets of 25 from earlier in the course, and I felt like they were a lot easier than the capstones. I did much worse. I recommend taking the Final Prep on the PSP. And still others say that the Barbri MBE questions are easier than the real MBE questions. However, the actual MBE will have some easy questions but after the exam you will only remember the hard ones. by ndbigdave » Fri Jul 20, 2018 10:22 am, Return to “Bar Exam Prep and Discussion Forum”, Discussions related to the bar exam are found in this forum. Where an actual MBE question might test you on an exception to a rule, the Barbri question will focus on the exception to the exception to the rule. by nthp » Thu Jul 19, 2018 8:14 pm, Post Where an actual MBE question might test you on an exception to a rule, the Barbri question will focus on the exception to the exception to the rule. In most U.S. states, your MBE score makes up 50% of your overall bar exam score and the other exam components are weighted to the MBE. I was in the 70%+ range on Adaptibar overall but closer to 75%+ near the end.

The goal with Barbri is to make sure EVERYONE passes the Bar. This is a question for those of you who have passed the Bar. I thought the ConLaw ones were the hardest. by nthp » Thu Jul 19, 2018 1:13 pm, Post It’s shockingly accurate.
